Our Mission

The OK~PIRC, creating partnerships between schools and families for student success

The Oklahoma Parent Information & Resource Center (OK PIRC) is a statewide technical assistance and training center whose mission is to build partnerships between schools and families to increase student achievement and parental engagement at the early childhood, elementary and secondary school levels.

Purpose

KidsThe Purpose of OK PIRC is to help implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement and that strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators, and other school personnel in meeting the education needs of children.  Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Innovation and Improvement, OK PIRC is a program of Eagle Ridge Institute.

Goals
  • Strengthen partnerships between parents and schools statewide
  • Improve student academic achievement by increasing parental engagement at the Pre-K-12 level
  • Increase parents’ knowledge and understanding of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB)
  • Provide parents ways to support their child’s learning at home
